Get Pimped!
HTC seem to be releasing phone after phone these days, but the first Android 2.3 phone they’ve built is the HTC Desire S. I’m a huge fan of the HTC Desire series of phones, so I was really intrigued to see how this one worked out. I’ve done a lot of reading and here are some of the main points that crop up in online reviews.
Good Points
The phone is said to be very fast, which is something I definitely expected from an updated version of the Desire. The original was quick, so with all the new features I expected this one to be even quicker. Also, the UI is intuitive to use and looks great, although the Android operating system still has bugs that need to be worked out.
Another bonus is that the camera of the HTC Desire S is said to be great at taking still shots. It’s also a fantastic looking phone.
Bad Points
It’s not all good news though, and there have been several complaints about the phone in reviews. Firstly, the Wi-Fi antenna seems to have a problem which could get very annoying. The notifications bar is also said to be slow, which is a shame because on the original it worked very well. Other problems include that the phone doesn’t record HD video very well and is relatively expensive compared to other models with a similar specification.
