I definitely want to start exercising again, but it is very difficult to know how to start. A lot of people were who are already in good shape find it really hard to know why people find it difficult to start exercising. The problem is not that are not motivated, it’s just that I tend to pick up injuries very quickly whenever I start exercising. This is probably something to do with my lifestyle and also because maybe I don’t warmup as well as I should.
I think the best thing I can do is to start exercising but build it up very slowly. I think the person who throws himself into the action as quickly as possible, so it’s probably no surprise that I end up getting injuries on a regular basis. Luckily, all the injuries that I’ve had so far have healed relatively quickly, but the last thing I want to do is end up with a long-term injury that could have been avoided if I just haven’t trained as much.
The other problem is that I probably spend too much time performing high impact activity such as running, when I’d be much better off doing a sport such as cycling. Cycling is a low impact activity but still works your muscles relatively hard, without such a risk of injury.
I’m also going to start a regular stretching program so that I more flexible when I start working. This should hopefully reduce the risk of getting an injury quite considerably.
I was reading the news today and came across a really interesting story, well, it’s not exactly interesting but it is fascinating! A man has just beaten the record for eating over 25,000 big Macs in the USA. The amazing thing is that he doesn’t even look that fat. He’s a 39-year-old prison guard, and apparently had eaten over 1000 big Macs by the time he was 19 years old.
I think the most amazing thing about this story is that someone actually keeps count of the amount of big Macs that they’ve eaten. The other thing is that he is able to eat this much junk food and still be alive and relatively healthy. Obviously, it’s impossible to tell how much damage he is doing to his body in the long run, but the fact that he is 57 and has been able to eat this much probably means that it is doing much harm.
Apparently he also appeared in a documentary film a few years ago, which featured him and discussed how he was still quite fit despite the fact that he ate McDonald’s every single day.
I was intrigued as to how he managed to keep track of all this meals at McDonald’s, apparently he uses a calendar to make sure that he notes down every single one that he eats. Considering that he’s eaten McDonald’s every single day for however many years, it’s pretty amazing that he hasn’t got bored of the big Mac and started to get something else.
HTC seem to be releasing phone after phone these days, but the first Android 2.3 phone they’ve built is the HTC Desire S. I’m a huge fan of the HTC Desire series of phones, so I was really intrigued to see how this one worked out. I’ve done a lot of reading and here are some of the main points that crop up in online reviews.
Good Points
The phone is said to be very fast, which is something I definitely expected from an updated version of the Desire. The original was quick, so with all the new features I expected this one to be even quicker. Also, the UI is intuitive to use and looks great, although the Android operating system still has bugs that need to be worked out.
Another bonus is that the camera of the HTC Desire S is said to be great at taking still shots. It’s also a fantastic looking phone.
Bad Points
It’s not all good news though, and there have been several complaints about the phone in reviews. Firstly, the Wi-Fi antenna seems to have a problem which could get very annoying. The notifications bar is also said to be slow, which is a shame because on the original it worked very well. Other problems include that the phone doesn’t record HD video very well and is relatively expensive compared to other models with a similar specification.
